THE OPTUS ONE80PROJECT ANNOUNCE TOP 10 FINALISTS & 2010 WINNER MAIA HORNIAK JOINS THE 2012 JUDGING PANEL

January 24, 2012 - We are pleased to announce the Top 10 entries for this year’s OPTUS ONE80PROJECT with finalists hailing from cities right across the nation including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Voting is now open for the public vote award, and all winning entries, including the major award with a cash prize of a $180,000 production budget, will be announced at a live festival event in Sydney at Ford Focus Moonlight Cinemas, Centennial Park on March 18, 2012.

In further news, past competition winner, director Maia Horniak will join the judging panel for the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT. After wrapping up production on the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT’s 2010 winning one hour TV-drama, The Sellers, Maia’s career has continued to go from strength to strength. Maia will be directing her debut feature film MixTape with Goalpost Pictures Australia, the same production company that produced The Sellers. Reinforcing her success and cementing her status in Australia’s local film and TV industry, Maia has joined the prestigious production company, Otto Empire, as Sydney director. AFI AWARD WINNER DAVID WENHAM RETURNS TO JUDGE THE 2012 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT

January 6, 2012 - Returning as a judge for a second time, Foxtel’s Killing Time star, David Wenham, will join Lincoln Lewis on the judging panel for this year’s OPTUS ONE80PROJECT. Having starred in a long list of local and international blockbusters including The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Boys, Australia, 300, Van Helsing and Moulin Rouge, Wenham’s distinguished 15 year professional career has cemented him as one of Australia’s most well respected actors.

LOGIE AWARD WINNER LINCOLN LEWIS TO JUDGE THE 2012 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT

29 October, 2011– Optus and MTV Networks Australia are pleased to welcome Logie Award winner Lincoln Lewis to the judging panel for the 2012 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT. Breaking into the industry at a young age, Lincoln Lewis quickly became an Aussie household name after winning the “Most Popular New Male Talent Logie” at the 2008 Logie Awards for his role as Geoff Campbell on Channel 7’s Home and Away. Since then, Lewis has featured in a range of local productions across both TV and cinema screens including, FOX8’s SLiDE, Channel 9’s Underbelly: Razor and the blockbuster hit Tomorrow, When The War Began.
