Martingale: a gambling system of continually doubling the stakes in the hope of an eventual win that must yield a net profit. A system that can bring about incredible reward or terrible consequences.
So what if you were to try to defeat the odds, what if you were to nearly succeed but all that you risked fell apart. Do you take the blame, or pass it on to someone else?
Jase, Natalie and Dash find themselves unwittingly chasing a martingale, a debt that has followed them into the country and interrupted their road trip. They are captured, interrogated and torn apart by unknown assailants who want their debt repaid.
When Jase wakes up bruised and shaken unaware of where he is or what he should do, he knows that he has three days to find out.
He sets about discovering where his friends are and the mystery of their persecution.
